Great Southern Bank finds its next CIO

After former tech leader left late last year.

Great Southern Bank has landed RACQ’s former chief operating officer Bernadette Stone as its new CIO, directing the bank's technology, data and projects functions.

iTnews understands Stone will lead the strategy, architecture and execution of the technology and enterprise portfolio functions for bank.

Prior to this, Stone was with RACQ for four years, first holding the chief technology role until 2022 before switching to COO until February this year.

Stone is also a former CIO for Brisbane City Council and has worked at Virgin Australia and Aurizon.

Great Southern Bank’s former CIO Carol-Ann Gough announced plans to leave the bank late last year, after two years in the position.

Gough has since joined Guidewire Software as VP of customer success and professional services APAC, working with teams across Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

RACQ's technology operations are now led by ex-Aussie Broadband CIO Anna Clive.
