The Geelong-headquartered company is replacing Mark Medwell, who left Cotton On in November to join Myer [pdf].

Medwell had been with the fashion brand for eight years and oversaw Cotton On’s IT stack across 1400 stores and 20000 staff.

“We’re proud of our current IT architecture with a modern tech stack comprising of largely tier one hosted applications and a contemporary, centralised infrastructure stack supporting our global business functions,” Cotton On said in a job advertisement.

"The chief information officer will lead and empower a team of 70-plus tech experts in multiple countries to be curious and innovative to protect and unlock the full potential of our tech infrastructure.”

According to the advertisement, the new CIO will oversee the development and implementation of Cotton On’s IT strategy, including emerging technology and artificial intelligence.
