Alphawest rebadges Websense security products

The IT services provider, which is a subsidiary of Optus Networks, said in a statement it will market the Websense offerings as "Alphawest On-Demand Email Security" and "Alphawest On-Demand Web Security".

"In the current economic climate organisations are looking to services, such as on-demand as a key way to resolve the challenge of managing their networks and security with limited budgets and resources," said Alphawest chief Rob Parcell.

"Alphawest On-Demand Security helps reduce customer anxiety about buying, maintaining and upgrading their own security equipment."

Websense's channel and alliances manager for Australia and New Zealand, Daniel Crnkovich, believed on-demand security products were gaining momentum in the market.

The market was "set to boom over the next few years", he said.
