The extension is expected to be completed in mid 2009 and is the second to be announced in the space of two weeks.

SABRENet and Amcom will also extend their long term infrastructure sharing agreement, which will provide Amcom with an expanded network capability to service commercial customers both at Techport and along the route.

Last week, SABRENet announced that a 6.5km extension of the network to a new Large Animal Research Imaging Facility (LARIF) - a joint initiative of the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS), the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia – had now been completed.

The extension provides high speed fibre links between the LARIF and the initiative partners, including a 1Gbps connection to the IMVS main facility in the Adelaide CBD.
