NBN has appointed its head of regional deployment as its new chief network engineering officer, in a replacement for departing chief operating officer Greg Adcock.

Adcock announced in October he would leave the national network builder after coming to a mutual decision with NBN that his position was redundant.
NBN decided not to replace him as chief operating officer, instead creating the new role of chief network engineering officer.
Peter Ryan had stepped into the role while NBN looked externally for an appointment, but the network builder has now decided to hire Ryan into the role permanently.
Ryan will start his new job immediately and will sit on the executive team reporting into CEO Bill Morrow.
Adcock is advising the business until his departure early next year.

Ryan joined NBN in January 2013 as its head of implementation. Prior to that, he served at Vodafone in both Australia and the UK for seven years across technology operations and networks.
"Peter is a global veteran of the telco industry and has built a sound knowledge of the business in his previous role of executive general manager, regional deployment," Morrow said in a statement.
"His expertise is complemented by his strong relationships with the team, both in-house and in our extended team within the delivery partner network. He brings fresh eyes to the role to pair with his experience in the network build."
