Saba replaced Jacqueline Hey who said in a statement that it was "time to consider a change" after 23 years at Ericsson.

Her replacement has been at Ericsson for 15 years, and would commence his new role on 1 April.

"For the last three years, [Sam] has been the Telstra Key Account Manager, driving many of the innovations that have made Telstra's Next G network one of the world's most advanced mobile networks," the vendor said in a statement.

Hey was appointed to lead the Australian and New Zealand business in November 2008.
