Antispyware added to BitDefender Online scanner

BitDefender has boosted the functionality of its free Online Scanner adding antispyware technologies, the security vendor announced today.


The modifications, which include a redesigned interface are to help usability and increase the level of protection, said BitDefender.

“BitDefender Labs is constantly trying to find more ways to enhance user experience [as] an example of our efforts to continuously improve all lines of BitDefender products we are happy to announce the current modifications to BitDefender Online Scanner,” said Bogdan Dumitru, CTO at BitDefender.

Furthermore, it provides detection, disinfection from viruses and spyware as well as reporting, claimed BitDefender.

The product is compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or higher using Windows XP or Vista.

Last week, researchers at BitDefender warned that a spam campaign embedded with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton Google search links is spreading and part of a new spam botnet.
