For: Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server 9.0 offers excellent flexibility in an easy to use appliance
Against: None that we found during this group test
Verdict: This is a first-rate appliance in all respects.

This product is very easy to use. Setup of the appliance took just a few minutes and was done directly on the box with a keyboard and mouse. Once a small number of questions are answered the box pretty much configures itself. From there it is managed via two web consoles: the configuration interface and the administration interface. Both are intuitive and easy to use.
We found the combination of flexibility and ease of management make this product a high performer, with encryption available such as S/MIME and OpenPGP, as well as shared secret. User interaction is also streamlined and intuitive, so there is almost no extra training needed.
The appliance comes with an administrator's manual and an evaluation guide. While we rarely write about evaluation guides because they are usually not given to customers, this one is used to demonstrate the appliance to prospective customers, and it smoothly guided us through several scenarios using this appliance.
We found this guide to be an excellent way to see all the capability of the appliance and found the scenarios to be helpful in learning how to use the Entelligence server. The admin guide provides comprehensive information on how to configure and manage the box.
There are three levels of support (silver, gold and platinum) offering varying degrees of telephone help, software maintenance releases, access to customer support portal, technical bulletin notifications, toolkit support discounts and optional professional services consulting.
At a price of £12,000 ($A27,591) this box is good value for the money. While it appears to be slightly costly at first, it provides massive flexibility and almost seamless integration with the current environment and user habits.
