Announced at the annual Women in AI awards held at the Art Gallery of NSW last Friday, 23 awards were handed out in categories such as AI in education and AI in climate.

Commenting on her win, Samiei said, “I am humbled by this recognition and thankful to the WAI community to have provided a platform that enables and empowers women in AI to be seen and heard. More determined than ever, I look forward to building a community that ethically shapes the future of AI and the world.”

In a LinkedIn post, Samiei thanked her family, colleagues and supporters for helping her on her journey.

She said, "I am incredibly honoured and humbled to have received the title of The Innovator of the Year and the Winner in Agribusiness award at the Women in AI Asia Pacific (APAC) awards. A huge congratulations to all the amazing finalists and winners and a big thank you to the WIA team and the amazing Andra Müller for such an incredible event.

"Moments like this are moments where I get to pause and think about not just everything I have accomplished but all the amazing people in my journey who have given me the opportunity to grow."

Each of this year’s 18 awards categories are judged on innovation, leadership and inspiration; their global potential and impact, and the ability of their AI solution to provide positive outcomes for their community and citizens.

Every winner from the evening will benefit from endorsement, prestige, recognition, opportunities for collaboration, and extensive media exposure, while the top winners will share in a $50,000 prize pool and additional valuable prizes graciously offered by Community and VC Partners.
