Service NSW’s digital chief Ian Jansen has resigned from the central service delivery agency just nine months into the top job.

A spokesperson confirmed Jansen made the decision to quit as chief digital and product officer last month.
Jansen was appointed to lead the agency's digital efforts in March last year through the inaugural position, which was created following changes to the agency’s executive structure in 2017.
He joined Service NSW after three years as the Department of Industry’s chief information officer, where he spent three years working to shift the department to the cloud.
During his time at Service NSW, Jansen helped build its “digital product capability”, according to the spokesperson.
This included upgrading the Service NSW app to support the expanded digital driver's licence trial and integrating PayPal onto its payment platform.
Service NSW is now looking for a new digital chief to take charge of the digital and product division in an agency that is renowned as a leader in customer-centric face-to-face and digital services.
According to the job ad, the key digital leadership position will have a central role in the “delivery of the digital government strategy through collaboration with agency partners across government”.
This includes responsibility for Service NSW’s core digital products, including the MyService NSW account, website and mobile app, digital forms and transactions and the payment services platform.
The successful applicant is expected to be a “highly experienced and strategic product delivery expert with an agile design approach to service delivery”, with a track record of thinking outside the box.
The agency is offering the successful applicant of the SES Band 2 position an annual salary starting at $289,217.
The spokesperson said the Service NSW’s chief customer officer Kylie De Courteney will act in the position while a replacement is found.
