Oracle buys Netsure Telecom

Oracle has agreed to acquire Netsure Telecom, a provider of network intelligence, analytics and network data integrity software.

Netsure's technology is targeted at communications service providers with traditional and next-generation networks. Current clients include Vodafone, Cable & Wireless and Eircom.

Dublin-based Netsure will become part of Oracle's Communications Global Business Unit, which delivers communications-specific applications to service providers.

The addition of Netsure's products to Oracle's communications applications suite will help existing customers to improve network utilisation, optimise capacity planning and enhance financial modelling, according to Oracle senior vice president and general manager, Bhaskar Gorti.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions and is expected to close later in September 2007. Financial details were not disclosed.
