Edith Cowan University’s long-time chief information officer Vito Forte has left after a seven-year stint.

According to Forte’s LinkedIn, his tenure as CIO ended at the end of 2024.

Forte oversaw a multitude of IT projects, some aimed at driving transformative learning experiences for ECU students in conjunction with enhanced staff experiences.”

In the interim, ECU has appointed Mike Laytham as its CIO.

An ECU spokesperson confirmed Laytham as interim CIO "to continue the technology service delivery and development program of the university.”

Laytham was most recently with IT services and consulting company NTT, but has also worked with CBA, Bankwest and BHP.
