Downer EDI has announced its recent award of $360 million worth of contracts with Telstra and Foxtel.

Downer EDI has announced its recent award of $360 million worth of contracts with Telstra and Foxtel.

The contracts were won through Downer's engineering division, Downer Engineering.

The total value of the three contracts awarded to Downer exceeds $360 million over four years.

The first multi-year national contract with Foxtel is for installation and maintenance services for Foxtel's satellite customers in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

The second and third contract requires Downer to extend of two of its contracts with Telstra - the Access Services contract and the Installation and Maintenance contract for regional New South Wales. These contracts were extended for two years with the provision for two further one year extensions.

Through these contracts Downer will be required to extend and rehabilitate Telstra’s fixed line network, address faults and restore services and telephony installations including ADSL Professional home installations.

Stephen Gillies managing director, Downer said the contract wins are this industry space has been challenging for our communications group.
