600K available in Panda grant prizes

Panda Software is putting more than $600,000 in cash and product donations up for grabs as part of a new grant program designed to promote better access to secure technology across the globe.

Announced today, the grants initiative is being funded to celebrate Panda's 15th anniversary.


Company representatives said that the goal of Panda IT Aid is to support projects that promote universal access to today's information society, particularly among disadvantaged sectors of society.

"In our company, we treat social responsibility as an active commitment to contribute to improving society and the environment in which we work," said Ainhoa Aguirre, managing director of Panda Software. "We are convinced that with this initiative we will have a significant social impact."

The company will offer more than $120,000 in cash to be split by four winning projects. Panda will also offer more than $480,000 in Panda Software security solutions to be shared by 15 finalists.

The deadline for project submissions is April 24.
