NSW Trade and Investment names Kennedy's replacement
Ian Jansen

Ian Jansen - a technology executive with over 20 years experience in vendor-land - started his new position this month.

He faces the challenging task of continuing the legacy built by Kennedy in his four years with the department, which included early adoption of cloud computing technologies and as-a-service delivery models.

Jansen has spent his 20 years in the IT sector in both sales and executive roles at the likes of distributors Express Data and Dimension Data, software applications company Promax, and most recently as the head of government and enterprise sales in A/NZ for social media giant LinkedIn.

Jansen told iTnews he was attracted to the role because of the "highly progressive mindset of the department" and the calibre of its leadership.

Kennedy tendered his resignation from the department in December to take up a CIO role at State Super Financial Services.

Sharon Holland, the department's group manager of knowledge management and business systems, had been acting as interim CIO.
