Coles' people and culture GM moves on

Coles’ people and culture operations general manager, Tammy Ryder, has shifted to shopping centre operator Vicinity Centres after nearly eight years with the retail giant.

Ryder assisted with Coles’ HR modernisation uplift that saw the organisation implement an SAP SuccessFactors solution, known internally as ‘myhub’.

Ryder announced on LinkedIn that she was leaving Coles for Vicinity Centres “after nearly eight incredible years”.

“It has been an amazing adventure filled with twists, turns, challenges and incredible opportunities for personal and professional growth," she wrote.

“Coles is an amazing organisation that will continue to thrive and deliver big things for their customers, teams, suppliers and stakeholders - because of the amazing people who work in and around this business every day."

Ryder also led Coles' Differentiating Practice strategy, which aims to improve employee digital engagement. 

At Vicinity Centres, Ryder will take over from Tanya Southey and report to CEO Peter Huddle.

Vicinity Centres also took to LinkedIn to celebrate Ryder’s move to the team.

“Tammy joins Vicinity as chief people officer at an exciting time as we continue to embed and grow our co-created purpose, vision, values, and behaviours, setting the tone for how and why we do business," the company wrote. 

“Tammy brings a wealth of experience working with diverse teams spread across Australia, influencing and delivering changes to how they work cohesively together." 

Meanwhile, Rich Atkinson will join Coles in February as the new general manager of people and culture operations, reporting to chief people officer Kris Webb.

A Coles spokesperson told Digital Nation: “We are excited to have Rich Atkinson join Coles as our general manager of people and culture operations.

"Rich will lead the strategic P&C direction across supermarkets, supply chain and liquor and play an important part in making Coles a great place to work for our operations team members.”
