CEO Andrew Bills announced Balan-Vnuk’s appointment in a LinkedIn post yesterday, noting she had started with the utility this week.

The appointment was also confirmed on SA Power Networks’ official LinkedIn account.

“Eva brings a wealth of experience in leveraging technology and data to drive transformative change,” Bills wrote.

“Her vision and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our network through smart grid technologies, improve customer experience through digital platforms, and explore new opportunities in the evolving energy landscape.”

The utility’s executive leadership team page was also updated to note Balan-Vnuk’s appointment.

Upon announcing her departure from the SA government, Balan-Vnuk had indicated she was taking on a role that allowed her “to continue to support South Australians”.

Balan-Vnuk was named state government technology leader of the year in 2024 by iTnews in its annual Benchmark Awards programme.

SA Power Networks, meanwhile, took out the best energy project award at the 2025 iTnews awards in Sydney last week.
