Sydney ISV Professional Advantage has signed an international OEM deal with a UK-based financial software vendor to add an e-procurement capability to the latter's software.

Professional Advantage said in a statement that the OEM deal with a UK-based business and financial software company, Systems Union, was expected to increase Professional Advantage's export earnings 25 per cent.

It would see Australian-developed software marketed to users of Systems Union's SunSystem worldwide.

Bill Bryce, Australia and New Zealand MD at Systems Union, said e-procurement capability was a standard online business requirement in Europe.

'We took a comprehensive look at the five best international developers of e-procurement products for our SunSystem software. Professional Advantage's iPOS won,' Bryce said.

The Australian e-procurement application was chosen because it 'tightly integrated' with SunSystem 'out of the box', he added.

Professional Advantage was also a leading Asia-Pacific reseller for Systems Union, so already understood the needs of the UK vendor's customers, Bryce said.

Steve Howcroft, joint managing director at Professional Advantage, said the ISV's iPOS e-procurement product aimed to simplify the administration-intensive procure-to-pay process.

'We have seen 1,000 hours of manual processing eliminated and performed electronically across the internet [using this functionality],' Howcroft claimed.

The ISV said iPOS had been available to British and Australian companies for 18 months. It had around 2,000 users worldwide, the company said.
