National Australia Bank chief technology officer Denis McGee has had a title change, crowned CIO following the bank’s reshuffle of its executive ranks last month.

The bank effectively split the role of chief information officer in two under a reshuffle in November, when former chief information officer Adam Bennett took on responsibility for the bank’s multi-million dollar NextGen project, and McGee was charged with day-to-day IT management.
Bennett will now report to Lisa Gray, who took over the role of group executive, enterprise services and transformation last month.
The bank is four years into a ten-year IT transformation project that will see it replace its core banking system and data centres.
A spokesperson for the bank said Bennett’s and McGee’s roles and responsibilities remained the same.
