First kicking off in 2017, the program seeks professionals looking to re-enter the workforce after taking time off for a variety of reasons.

The global engineering, architecture and construction services company has also seen more than 140 participants since it first started.

Through the program, GHD hopes to entice tech talent plus other skilled workers into the company via its paid 10-week program.

The Career Relaunch Program offers flexible roles for anyone with a minimum of two years of previous experience and a two-year career break or career change.

GHD has also recently begun to integrate the Copilot for Microsoft 365 tool for a variety of its business verticals.

Cara Kuramoto, GHD’s Australian people leader told Digital Nation, “Program intake fluctuates from year to year”.

This is “based on the number of candidates who meet the program eligibility requirements and the work we have available in each region to ensure it is a meaningful opportunity for participants.”

From the 146 in total who have gone through the program since 2017, 65 are still with GHD, said Kuramoto.

Kuramoto added that GHD is looking for those in the in “digital/IT space, we are looking for skills in data science, AI, GIS/location intelligence, cyber security, application development, software development, project management.”

This year GHD is looking to close the gap on roles such as engineering across multiple disciplines, digital, IT and project management.

It’s also hoping to fill spots in its design, business services and environmental and earth geosciences departments as well as other areas such as modelling drafting and advisory roles.

The program is set to run from 22 July through to 27 September 2024.
