The Government Secure Intranet (GSi) project means that central and local Government employees will have restricted access to email, internet, remote working and a regularly updated central directory.

Telecoms and internet provider Energis signed the five-year contract with the trading arm of the Office of Government Commerce, OGCbuying.solutions. Other companies in the running for the job included BT and Cable & Wireless.
