As part of its 'Silent Nemo' trial of unnmanned underwater vehicles, the US Navy has developed its 'GhostSwimmer' drone - a two metre long, 45kg shark-shaped robot that moves like a fish by oscillating its tail fin back and forth.
The drone will be used for "surveillance, mine countermeasures, port security, and other defence and homeland security initiatives," according to the US Navy.
Check out the agency's video of the robot shark in action.
