SonicWall report names worst days and months.

Tuesday is the worst day for security threats around the world, according to a report from SonicWall.

Tuesdays in December worst for security threats

The security firm said Mondays came close behind Tuesdays as the "most active day for threat-related traffic" for much of Europe, the US, China and India.

'Back to school' time and the Christmas holidays were the worst hit by security threats. Trojans peak in September and December, while worms wreak the most havoc in December, and adware is at its worst during September, October and December, the report said.

Boris Yanovsky, vice president of software engineering at SonicWall, said malware was, as ever, on the increase. "The amount of malware has tripled compared to the year 2009. Overall, it is expected to reach twice the levels seen for the same period over the previous two years."
