Seeking big thinkers with commercial skills.

Australia’s largest telco is on the hunt for a Deputy CTO.

Telstra seeks deputy CTO

Reporting to Telstra chief technology officer Hugh Bradlow, the telco is seeking a technologist with a broad skillset to help steer Telstra’s transformation.

The office of the CTO at Telstra is charged with “managing innovation”, which encompasses product innovation (concept and design of new services) but also requires a strong understanding of how new products and services can be commercialised.

The new director-level role involves project management, the management of a team of fellow technologists and presentations at conferences and analyst/media briefings.

Bradlow said he was looking for a candidate with a minimum of 10-20 years industry experience and “proven entrepreneurial and commercial skills”.

High-level knowledge of mobile networks and devices, IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networks) and applications is also under consideration.

“Telstra is transforming itself and innovation is high on the agenda so the role will be challenging and exciting,” Bradlow said.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to email the company.
