Brisbane-based tech firm Enablo has unveiled a multimillion dollar investment In the future of the enterprise metaverse with a new division called Reality Labs.

Enablo’s Reality Labs will work closely with Meta’s Reality Labs to help enterprises benefit from the metaverse – harnessing cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies to bring people together with a powerful suite of work tools and solutions.
CEO Daragh McGrath said the aim of focusing on the metaverse is to make the future of work more accessible for organisations.
“As one of the leading Workplace from Meta partners, we’re proud to have launched more than 200 organisations onto the business communications platform,” says McGrath.
“Showing organisations how to improve communication, collaboration, and connection across their distributed workforces is what Enablo has always done best.
“We’ve demonstrated our success in delivering solutions through our partnerships with work tech platforms Workplace, Asana, and Google Workspace, so investing in our own suite of products that build on the functionalities of these tools is a natural step.
Nathan Bazley is leading the investment, he bring six years of experience in the immersive technology space, having worked for organisations like the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and NBC Universal across AR, VR, Virtual Production and other real-time technologies.
Bazley said the opportunity to work with Enablo to transport workplace communications and conversations into the metaverse was one he couldn’t refuse.
“It’s no surprise that the way we work is in flux right now. With many remote and most of us hybrid to some degree, it’s vital businesses find better ways to bring colleagues together” he said.
“Immersive technologies were built for this moment, and with exciting new hardware and tech capabilities on the horizon, workers will no longer be chained to a webcam for communication. Enablo is the right team, tackling the right problem at the right time. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build this division of the business and lead it into an exciting future.”
Bazley said there is a lot of opportunity in the international business-to-business metaverse market for an entrant from Brisbane.
“A lot of the early business-to-business metaverse products out there today are built by tech enthusiasts, for tech enthusiasts,” he said.
“I’m focused on building products and experiences for a new generation of leaders and their employees. Jumping into a digital workplace to connect with colleagues should be easy and enjoyable. You should never walk away feeling as drained as we all do after a day of video conferences. I see this as an evolution of internal communication.”
Enablo Reality Labs will build out its team and suite of products throughout the year, but its first client will be the business itself.
“We always adopt the technology we sell, so we’re already starting to test the new possibilities across technologies available to us today,” McGrath ended.
