PivX, a security research and product company, said Wednesday that it acquired Threat Focus, a supplier of targeted security alerts. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

PivX said the acquisition will expand its portfolio of services and complement its Qwik-Fix Pro desktop threat mitigation product.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based PivX also recently added to its executive team by hiring Luis Curet as vice president of sales and Jason Coombs as director of forensic services. Curet previously was vice president of sales and corporate marketing for Rainbow Technologies eSecurity Group.
