U.S. State Dept. selects integrated smart card-biometric solution

The U.S. State Department has chosen a system that integrates smart card technology from Datakey and biometric technology from Precise Biometrics AB, the companies announced this week.


The department selected the vendors' integrated Match-on-Card biometric authentication system for its Biometrics Logical Access Development and Execution (BLADE) project. Datakey said it will deliver a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution to upgrade the department's existing 30,000 Smart ID ...
