The administrator of distributor Integrity Data Systems (IDS), Sims Partners, has sold the business to national electronic equipment service and rental company TR Corporation.
IDS entered voluntary administration last month after attempting a national expansion. It owed $1.2 million to unnamed creditors.
The five remaining IDS staff plus former Integrity CEO Ross Chiswell are all moving across to TR, which also purchased IDS’ computer systems and phone numbers in a deal which was completed on 18 November.
The company name and brand would be retained and become a division of TR Corporation. Other brands, Tech-Rentals, Bearcom and TR Telecom all fall under the TR Corporation holding company.
David Gallagher, group communications manager for TR Corporation, said the company was talking to IDS suppliers Dragonwave, Lightpointe, RAD, Orthorgon, Powerware and Sagem with a view to continue distributing these products.
TR would sell these IDS products from its locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Darwin. The IDS business would also be expanded into Malaysia and New Zealand, countries where TR already has operations, Gallagher said.
Sims Partners was handling the remaining IDS debt and TR had no exposure to creditors, Gallagher said.
The deal gives TR new technical capabilities in spectrum radio, infrared and microwave products and a wireless broadband wholesale base, a company statement said.
