Ends two-month-long search.

West Australian insurer HBF has filled its chief information officer position, which was left vacant by the departure of Bernie Fegie in October.

HBF recruits new CIO

An HBF spokesman this week told iTnews that it had selected a new CIO, who would likely begin in February 2013. He declined to name the executive, nor provide details of his or her background.

HBF had sought a CIO to “provide effective leadership and direction to a large-scale team in the delivery and management of all areas relating to computing and information technology services”.

Recruitment documents called for a Perth-based executive to lead HBF’s technology team through a time of cultural change, while driving technological change both internally and externally.

The CIO was to be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, policies and programs; enabling the business through technology; and developing and delivery on operational budgets.
