The Cybercrime Prevention Act, which will be filed to the Philippines' congress next year, underwent its tenth revision after public hearings at congress.
Alongside the changes the latest draft will also include anti-spam measures, and coverage of mobiles phones.
In an interview with the Computer Crime Research Center Albert Dela Cruz, co-chair of the forerunner of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) that originally drafted the bill said, "We have refined existing provisions in the bill to address wireless devices. And there are provisions there that qualify what is spam and what is not."
The bill proposes to create a Joint Cybercrime Investigation Unit (JCIU) pooling the Philippines cybercrime expertise.
