DoS teen released on bail

A UK court has granted bail to a teenager arrested for launching five million emails at his ex-employer.

The 17 year-old launched the spam attack after he was fired for failing to fill out a time sheet at a job at insurance firm Domestic & General.


The youth, whi cannot be named, now faces fines up to £5,000 or six months in jail, but has complained to the Independent Police Complaints Commission of unlawful arrest.

The firm clams it lot more than £18,000 as a result of down-time from the attack.

The youth has admitted sending the messages and downloading a spamming progra, which sent out the emails over three days.

The messages contained script excerpts from classic films.
