The Federal Department of Customs and Border Protection has awarded a $5.1 million contract to migrate to a new enterprise content management platform.

The department will phase out its use of an Open Text platform and shift to version eight of Objective's enterprise content management platform.
Objective won the deal after a public tender that commenced in early 2011.
The department will also implement Objective Discover to aid searches of the document repository.
Objective CEO Tony Walls believed the vendor's public sector focus got it over the line.
According to AusTender, Objective has done deals with the Federal Government totalling worth $32.6 million since 2007.
The Customs deal will make it Objective’s third largest Federal customer after Defence ($14.7m) and the Australian Securities and Investment Commission ($7.9m).
Objective has also been active in the state and local governments sectors.
