Local IT services provider ASG Group’s chief operating officer, Dean Langenbach, has taken over as CEO from the company’s founder Geoff Lewis, who retired after 23 years in the job.

ASG promotes Dean Langenbach to CEO

Langenbach first joined ASG as its chief financial officer in 2005, before becoming its COO in 2011. His prior positions include stints at OneSteel, GE Capital, and Deloitte Australia.

Now, he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s 2,000 staff operating in eight cities across Australia and Asia, including the 100 new team members at its recently opened National Operations Centre in Adelaide.

His predecessor Geoff Lewis said the company should continue to benefit from Langenbach’s leadership and 14 years experience within ASG.

“I am confident ASG Group is in good hands, with a strong pipeline of major work, an experienced and stable management team led by Dean, and the backing of a global powerhouse in Nomura Research Institute (NRI),” Lewis said.

“Since the sale of ASG Group in 2016, I’ve been an active investor in technology and related
areas, and I now look forward to broadening that role and more fully pursuing some opportunities.

“Our recent growth demonstrates the confidence we have in our future, supported by our
renewed and bolstered capabilities, and the backing of our parent company NRI, a powerhouse global Japanese consulting firm,” he added.

Langenbach officially begins as CEO from today. He also thanked Lewis for his time and commitment to the company, and wished him well in his retirement.
