AMP has landed HSBC’s former chief information security officer (CISO) for Australia and head of the Australasia cluster, Jean-Baptiste Bres.

Bres announced on his LinkedIn page he was joining AMP as its new chief information security officer (CISO) and director of technology for security, risk and compliance.
“Exciting news! I am thrilled to announce that I am joining AMP as their new director of technology - security, risk and compliance (CISO). Looking forward to embarking on this new journey,” Bres said.
Kavita Mistry, AMP’s chief technology officer told Digital Nation, “We are delighted to have Jean-Baptiste join the team as we continue our focus on strong information security and technology risk management at AMP.”
He will now report to Mistry and is replacing Elrich Engel who departed after four years at AMP.
Bres’ responsibilities in the new role cover leading the continual strengthening of AMP’s information security and technology risk management to better serve AMP customers, members, and advisers.
Before joining AMP, Bres had been with HSBC for over two and a half years and was also the CISO at neobank, Avenue Bank for a brief four months.
He also worked at the now-defunct neobank Xinja for just over a year and a half and was with StatePlus for over four years.
