AMD appoints Ahmed Mahmoud as CIO

AMD has appointed Dell veteran Ahmed Mahmoud as chief information officer reporting directly to Hector Ruiz, chief executive at AMD..


After leaving his position as vice president of IT at Dell, Mahmoud will be responsible for managing AMD's global technology infrastructure.

During his 13 years at Dell, Mahmoud led a series of projects aimed at transforming the company's data warehousing, virtual storefront, manufacturing, supply chain and corporate computing operations.

Prior to his time at Dell, Mahmoud held positions at Eastman Kodak, the University of Houston and Texas A&M University.

Mahmoud holds a bachelor's and master's degree in physics from Texas A&M University.
