Quicker to buy than build.

Perth business telco Amcom will snap up data centre operator aCure Technology for $14.3 million.

Amcom buys aCure data centres

The acquisition covers three data centres in the Perth metropolitan area and boosts Amcom's total data centre capacity to 650 racks.

The newly-bought facilities are already interconnected using Amcom fibre.

Amcom CEO Clive Stein said in a financial filing the buy would enable Amcom to "quickly expand" its hosted services capacity, "rather than pursue a greenfield build strategy that is slower to market".

The buyout is expected to be completed sometime next month.
