Tucked on a triangular site inbetween Melbourne's Southern Cross train station and Etihad Stadium, 700 Bourke Street is NAB's newest flexible workplace.
The building is home to 6000 staff, but only 4500 can work in it at any one time, giving it a ratio of 1.3 people per desk.
Building owner Cbus was faced with a challenging triangular-shaped site. There is only one lift bank, and the central atrium enables visibility between all of the floors, which NAB says ensures staff frequently meet up.
The facilities at 700 Bourke St are made available to all NAB staff, with a central security system ensuring the building is not over capacity.
The building has 'drop-in' (less than an hour), 'short-term' (1-3 hours) and 'long-term' (3+ hours) workstations with different set-ups for each.
A drop-in bar is available for staff requiring tech support.
Lockers are made available on each floor, typically allocated based on where a staff member plans to spend most of their day working.
