Launches channel recruitment drive.

Security vendor Webroot has launched a channel recruitment drive with the intention of doubling its reseller base.

Webroot looks to double partner base

Webroot, which entered the Australian market in 2008, grew its revenue by 134 percent in the last 12 months. With 30 resellers, the company expects to grow that number to 60 partners in the next 12 months.

Webroot Asia Pacific managing director Charles Heunemann said the company is seeking help through a larger channel network to keep up with growth.

"We're growing in terms of our brand recognition, and growth was driven by partners who have been switched on to our software-as-a-service offering," he said.

Webroot provides application security-as-a-service which includes email and web filter, anti-virus and anti-malware services. Its infrastructure is hosted in a Sydney-based data centre.

Heunemann claimed it supports resellers through "good" margins and education.

"We also have a channel charter - if a customer rolls over their 12-month contract we give some financial incentives for retaining our business," he said.
