Warner unveils HD-DVD and Blu-ray titles
Warner Bros confirmed today that it will continue to hedge its bets by supporting the HD-DVD and Blu-ray next-generation high definition DVD formats.

The film giant's Warner Home Video division announced that it will release seven new HD films on 10 October. Five will debut on the HD-DVD format championed by Toshiba and two will be issued on the Sony-backed Blu-ray system.

Making their debut on HD-DVD are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Batman Begins, Corpse Bride and The Polar Express. Making their Blu-ray debut will be Syriana and 16 Blocks.

Batman Begins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also include In-Movie Experience, the interactive feature allowing viewers to enjoy new ways of accessing interviews and other material while the movie is running.

The HD-DVD titles will be available for US$28.99 and the two Blu-ray discs will be available for US$34.99. All bonus materials on the standard definition versions of these titles will be included on the HD-DVD and Blu-ray versions.
