TV firm seeks citizen journalists
Users of photo blogging site Fotothing have been offered the chance to have their pictures shown on primetime television, and get paid as well.

Endemol UK, one of the largest independent TV producers in the UK, and the company behind shows such as Big Brother and Deal Or No Deal, is working with Fotothing to produce I Was There: The People's Review 2006.

The program, to be shown on ITV1, will showcase the news events of 2006 from the perspective of the blogging citizen journalist.

Endemol has appealed for photos and video footage that capture anything reported in the UK press this year, from the Fifa World Cup to the recent coup in Thailand.

Budding citizen journalists should register free on Fotothing for the chance to have their photos included in the news review.

Endemol confirmed that it will pay for any photos or footage used, but has not yet clarified how much will be offered.
