News Corp Australia's chief information and technology officer Tom Quinn has left the company after 11 years, as the publisher restructures its technology and digital teams.

Quinn left the company today and was replaced as chief technology officer by Alisa Bowen, News Corp's former head of digital product development.
The publisher has opted to merge its formerly separate technology and digital teams into a single unit under Bowen, meaning internal and customer-facing IT will now operate from the same business division.
News Corp declined to comment on Quinn's departure.
Bowen said in a statement her goal was to enable better collaboration between digital and tech, as well as faster decision-making and product delivery.

"In this way we'll enable News Corporation’s ongoing transformation through world class technology that delivers excellent experiences for our employees, audiences, advertisers and partners," she said.
During his time at the publisher, Quinn embarked on an aggressive cloud push in an effort to get 80 percent of the company's systems onto third-party infrastructure.
His focus more recently has been on ensuring News Corp's diverse systems are stitched together well enough to successfully run end-to-end business processes - a set-up he dubbed the "glue" holding the "lego blocks" together.
Quinn also oversaw the replacement of 12 legacy content management systems with a single Methode-based CMS for News Corp's many titles.
