Tipping Point Technologies, an Austin, Texas-based provider of intrusion prevention products, on Monday announced its plans to expand sales in Europe.

Paul Couturier, Tipping Point's vice president of international operations, is leading the company's expansion of a value-added distributor network across Europe to support security resellers.

"Our next step is to open a sales office in London for the U.K. and Nordic region in May with rapid expansion planned across the wider European market place," Couturier said in a prepared statement.

In its announcement, Tipping Point cited a 2004 infosec breach survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers, which showed that more than two thirds of U.K. companies have suffered a malicious attack in the past year.
