Four in five Australian workers expected to get a pay rise this year and many were prepared to walk if they didn't get it, according to a survey by recruiter Robert Walters.

The survey of "almost 500 professionals" found 83 percent of employees expected a raise. Of these, 69 percent would consider moving jobs if their pay didn't increase.
Almost half of respondents expected a pay rise up to 10 percent of their current base salary.
Those in NSW were most confident of getting a raise (81 percent), whereas respondents in Victoria (62 percent) and Queensland (57 percent) were less optimistic.
