Survey shows dissatisfaction with security management

The survey, sponsored by Computer Associates and conducted by Quocirca which polled 12,00 IT managers across the US and Europe, also found that 59 per cent of respondents have a comprehensive security policy in place, but only 18 per cent have actually completed implementation.  In fact, 19 per cent have not even started the process.

The solution for 82 per cent of respondents is the integration of security measures into a centralised management facility.

"This survey suggests that tactical solutions are distracting companies from the real challenge, of defining and deploying a corporate security policy that takes an holistic view of the business risks and enables the implementation of comprehensive solutions," said Jon Collins, Principal Analyst, Quocirca.
