Security vendor RSA has joined the likes of KAZ and Keycorp - just to name a few - for the lucrative prize of fullfilling the Federal government’s access card tender.

Mark Pullen, country manager A/NZ at RSA, said the project's been in the work for almost three years from when the government first started discussing the concept.

According to Government officals a preference for off-the-shelf technology over newly development products has been requested.

The Australian government released its call for tenders on 13 January while announcing it’s criteria for the development of its health and social services access card.

The tender process will begin 5 June 2007 and end 1 March 2007.
