Postbank unveils anti-phishing measures

Deutsche Postbank said it will attach the e-signatures to all its emails, after research by German research firm TNS Infratest found that 80 percent of customers said they would not be able to tell a phishing email from a real one.

The certificates will be issued by TC Trust, a subsidiary of certificate authority company GeoTrust. When the customer clicks on the symbol within the email, they can seen if the certificate is valid or not. If it isn't, a message will pop up to warn the user.

Postbank and several other large German banks, have been the target of phishing attacks. Earlier this week, German police arrested five men thought to be part of a phishing gang.
