NEC integrates Australian operations
NEC has completed the nationwide integration of NEC Business Solutions and NEC Australia.

The vendor’s Australian operations have been integrated in response to “the rapid changes occurring in the Australian ICT market, in particular the growth of broadband, IP telephony and wireless communications”.

It claimed the integration will increase synergy between the two businesses and enhance business collaboration in the key areas of IT and networks.

Toshiharu Iwasa, managing director of NEC Australia, said: “The integration of our operations will strengthen our product and solutions portfolio, particularly in the provision of Managed Services, putting us in a unique position to offer our customers integrated end-to-end solutions equipped to meet the challenges of future ICT market trends.

Iwasa said its customers and more than 1200 local staff members will experience a “seamless transition”.

“The move will help our customers maintain their competitive edge and at the same time equip our staff to deliver total communications solutions through our broadband network, display solutions, broadband access products, IP telephony and wireless capability,” added Iwasa.

NEC Australia will continue to be headquartered in Melbourne with combined annual revenues of approximately $600 million.
