NEC has appointed Jason Price as its next president and CEO and he will begin his role immediately.

Price was previously at IBM as its VP and general manager, in Australia and New Zealand, leading all consolidated IBM technology business units.
He was at IBM for close to 15 years in various roles.
Mitsuhiro Murooka, senior VP and chief commercial officer at NEC said Price’s appointment came after a thorough global search before choosing him to continue NEC Australia’s growth and drive its strategy forward.
He said, “On behalf of NEC Australia, we are pleased to announce Price as our next President and CEO – an outstanding candidate with strong technology experience across Australia and New Zealand.
“Price has a strong track record of growth, implementation and delivery and is a proven leader managing large teams, and we are confident he will make NEC Australia’s star continue to soar.”
Price said he was proud and humbled to be appointed to the role and was looking forward to hitting the ground running.
“I feel fortunate to be joining at a time when we can capitalise on the growth opportunities available, and continue developing offerings that help ensure every Australian, no matter where they are, is ready, resilient and resolute for a digital future,” he said.
“NEC Australia has been long been the trusted partner for business and government to connect Australians to a brighter future, and I look forward to working closely with the teams in Australia and New Zealand to continue that success into the future.”
The acting CEO and executive chair Mike Mrdak will now be resuming his role as chair.
Murooka said, “We are so pleased to continue to have Mike’s sharp and strategic mind continuing to play a role in our long-term growth strategy, as we continue to work towards orchestrating a brighter world.”
