Motorola has backed the GSM Association's Pay-Buy-Mobile initiative, saying that it will "potentially participate" in trials to drive the development and adoption of mobile payment technology.
Motorola also promised to provide feedback to GSMA Near Field Communications Technical Guidelines white papers, and to work with standardisation bodies such as ETSI and the NFC Forum to further provide input to the development process.
"Participating in the GSMA Pay-Buy-Mobile Initiative further advances Motorola's goal of bringing the promise of mobile payments and financial services to customers around the globe," said Alan Wright, a senior director for mobile devices at Motorola.
