Flip has been selling NBN services supported by backhaul from the likes of Optus, Vocus and AAPT, according to its website.

The ISP had 26,000 consumer broadband customers at the time of the migration across to Swoop infrastructure.

Customers of Flip started to see the change late last week, based on posts to the broadband forum Whirlpool.

For Flip, the agreement and transition are about supporting its existing customer base and future growth ambitions.

Meanwhile for Swoop, the deal is expected to generate $10 million in revenue annually from January this year.

Swoop chief technology officer Tom Berryman said that NBN Co had supported the bulk service migration of Flip services onto Swoop infrastructure.

Swoop said the partnership with Flip came about after backhaul service discussions.
